Some of you may have seen on Twitter and in the Citizen about this. The Diocese of Gloucester is running roughshod over local residents and is now clearing the site in preparation for building work, despite not even having planning permission. Does this sound familiar?..... (Incinerator) Is this the way the Gloucester City and County Councils do business now, whilst local politicians look the other way or just wash their hands of the local residents concerns, as Richard Graham has done yet again.

I don't trust Hawthorn as far as I could throw him and as the Citizen is effectively in his pocket - I don't trust that paper either. The county and city councils are so dodgy, i'm surprised that they dont appear in Private eyes Rotton Boroughs more often. There is so much anger about this school its unbelievable...

I stopped buying Private Eye partly because I didn't have time to read it, and partly because the Gloucester City Homes shenanigans seemed to have passed them by. Strange when Gloucester is historically a corrupt 'borough'. You could put Hawthorne on the spot, though, by asking him to set up a public meeting about the application. He'll probably decline. Or bring it up with Quedgeley Parish Council? Back in 2007, the City Centre Community Partnership held a very interesting meeting about the proposed Parkway Station that, in hindsight, effectively scotched the plans. The CCCP had a better chair at that time, Mark Boyce, and wouldn't say boo to a goose now. County Council Ignore their own survey on Parkway (page 4)A meeting is crucial to gather information and, if necessary, form opposition.
