I usually post these on the Barton & Tredworth Proboard, but as our councils seem to ignore a lot of these reports, better to keep it in politics, and close to hand... www.fixmystreet.com/report/1939570Two deep holes (basement illumination?) by wall of New Olympus Theatre, Blenheim Road Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category by Joe Kilker at 13:55 today These two holes have been left uncovered for months, except when two burnt-out mattresses were propped against the wall over them. Now the mattress have been removed but the holes ignored again, even though a steel barrier was installed just feet away, a week ago. I expect a further long delay before the problem is dealt with. I received this response by email today, which makes a change: Wed, 15 Jan 2020 14:02 Highways Customer Service (highways@gloucestershire.gov.uk) Thank you for your email. We are monitoring our inbox daily, however some enquiries require further investigation and response. Due to the high volume of enquiries at the moment, we will endeavour to respond and provide you with a unique reference number, which will enable you to request a progress update. If your enquiry is urgent and needs immediate attention, please call our emergency line 08000 514 514. Kind regards, Gloucestershire Highways Customer Contact Centre We'll see how long it is before I get the 'unique reference number'.

This came today. The 'issue' title suggests that it is as automatic as the first, because they sure aren't potholes:
