Seems like Eddddy doesn't want to talk about the murder at all... unless he/she/it can use it as a means to be obnoxious on this board. Isn't that hypocrisy?

Why have police had extra patrols in the area? Isn't that a bit like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted? Especially since the alleged killers are from Bristol and have been arrested, charged and remanded in custody.

It is a bit pointless, if the police aren't going to tackle the problem at its source, and the usual talking heads are studiously avoiding any suggestions that the venue which has seen drug raids and violence on several occasions might be the problem. Gloucester FM has strong tie with this club through Paul Johnson. Carol Francis is a magistrate still, after stepping down as councillor in a huff when Harjit Gill was picked to be Mayor by her party, and hubby Derrick, chairman of GFM, is a city council employee. So expect them to crick their necks looking the other way. Had it been otherwise back in 2009, Dolton Powell would probably be alive today. Five men arrested after drugs found in a Gloucester clubIncidentally, I'm pretty sure his father, Jonathan Powell, is the same Jonathan Powell who was a trustee for the Barton & Tredworth Community Trust while I was on the board. In hindsight, I suspect he was the eyes and ears for Carol Francis, who was also on the board and never attended meetings. They probably clashed with the Community Links show, but she never once sent in apologies for absence either, and was still made chair when Mahmoud Patel resigned, after driving the trust into the ground financially. All of which gives a flavour of how murky dealings are in our ward, and why they will remain so for the foreseeable future, murder notwithstanding.

Still, everything will now be all right because Gordon Barrington is Mayor of Barton. Hurrah!

I can see him calling for a full enquiry into what may be the first incidence of Op Trident style 'black on black' crime to hit Gloucester... if he can be persuaded not to flounce out in a huff first.
