For all the sound and fury about the recommended pay rise for MPs, no-one seems to have a comment about the fact that the Independent Parliamentary Authority (IPSA) have also introduced cuts to other means of compensating members for their time, such as pensions and expenses, which supposedly evens things out. If those changes are allowed to happen while our MPs, supposedly in tune to the suffering of us plebs, refuse the rise, or give it away, won't they in effect be taking a pay cut, and isn't that worth at least a mention? Until someone does, the whole thing looks like a pantomime, up there with PMQs and the Margaret Hodge Show.
